BIG soccer tournaments are to be held in the greater Matjhabeng area, with the first of these presented in 2017.
The Paseka Sekese Youth Soccer Spectacular was established to encourage children to participate in sporting activities such as football.
This was an initiative by Paseka Sekese, a South African footballer who plays for Bidvest Wits FC.
Sekese was born and raised in Thabong, Welkom. He has been better known as Kaka ever since he played for the u.12 development team.
All schools in the Matjhabeng area are encouraged to inform their learners about the event and to prepare teams.
The first kick-off date is 4 April 2017.
The first round will focus on primary schools.
The tournaments will also be held for the high schools of the greater Matjhabeng. This is a way of keeping children safe and and off the streets and to discourage them from abusing drugs and alcohol.
Schools are encouraged to enter at least eight teams per school. There will be big prizes and trophies up for grabs.
