1st place in Bloemfontein Eskom Expo

THS took 1st place in Bloemfontein Eskom Expo for young people on the 9th and 10th of May in Bloemfontein. This was a competition open to all Free State schools. They won a cash prize of R10 000 for the school. Lihle Xaba and Nkosi Kutyunga built and modified a water filter project.

Taking the lead at school for 2024

The RCL assist in developing and nurturing positive concepts in the school community and they also promotes school spirit and leadership.

Obtain first place in district as a team

The Welkom Technical High School’s (THS) Youth Citizen Action Programme (YCAP) team obtained a first position at the district elimination of the YCAP Competition, which was held at the Harmony High School in Virginia on 21 July. The THS team presented a topic on educating boys about teenag­e pregnancy and also putting a stop to the sexual objectifi­cation of girls. HTS was the best team for the language festival

Best debating team - they won all rounds with Boitshepo Lebesa as third best speaker, Lihle Xaba second best and Sam Lukhanyo as the best speaker for the language bonanza.
