A active young leader


Teboho Henson has made a significant impact on his school community at Technical High School Welkom. He has been elected as Treasurer of the Representative Council of Learners (RCL) for Circuit 2 High Schools of the FS Department of Basic Education in our area. Presently serving as the RCL secretary at his own school, Teboho has once again distinguished Technical High School Welkom, affectionately referred to as 'Tekkies" in the Goldfields, by achieving further accolades. He secured awards in Arts and Culture for the year 2023. His achievements have filled his school community with immense pride, and they are committed to supporting him in his new role.

Taking the lead at school for 2024

Obtain first place in district as a team


The Welkom Technical High School’s (THS) Youth Citizen Action Programme (YCAP) team obtained a first position at the district elimination of the YCAP Competition, which was held at the Harmony High School in Virginia on 21 July. The THS team presented a topic on educating boys about teenag­e pregnancy and also putting a stop to the sexual objectifi­cation of girls.
