African Communities Development Agency - ACDA

This was once a sporting facility of great resilience &
diversity because of range of sports that could be held at this
place. Now it is a BARREN WASTELAND... with it's resources
harvested by savages that are principled by nothing but survival
and "quick cash"- the ACDA saw this tragedy as an
opportunity at redemption. WE AIM TO REFURBISH
THIS FACILITY AND HOST OUR EVENTS HERE.

These walls
They that have
protected us from birth to adolescence
They that have
stopped rain from coming in -
and saw and
rebuked us for our sins.
Yet
temptation would not let us go -
these walls
have hidden us from our foes.
Surely
within them, our secrets are kept
for they
say nothing about the days we have left.
Seven years
later, we come back:
wearing
hearts proud with army knack
to find our
loved ones care no more,
their bones
rested, dried up or hard core.
We will
leave again when they call
to return
home to none but these cold walls.

Othello meets the Tekkies!

Actually viewing the drama - instead of simply reading it - has made a huge impact on our Grade 12 Tekkies. This wonderfully impressive production was a huge success among them, and we were allowed to meet Othello, Iago, Desdemona, Cassio and Montano after the performance. Othello himself is an incredible actor but Iago, with his evil machinations, stole the show.
We were very fortunate to see this production, and our Tekkies are in awe of Shakespeare's talent.
A heartfelt thanks to Mr Fanie Pretorius for driving us to and from Pretoria and Pule Mokhali for his assistance. It was a highly successful excursion: an outstanding performance, and our Tekkies did us proud with their sterling behaviour and absolute enjoyment of the live - and riveting - performance of Shakespeare's Othello.
