New headmaster of Unitas Secondary School

HTS Welkom proudly congratulates our Deputy Principal, Mr Johan Herbst, on his appointment as Headmaster of Unitas Secondary School in Welkom.

Mr Herbst has been part of the HTS family since 2012, where his journey in education began. During his time with us, he served with dedication as Head of Department before being appointed as Deputy Principal. His commitment, leadership, and passion for education have made a lasting impact on our school community.

We are incredibly proud of this remarkable achievement, especially at such a young age, and we have no doubt that he will lead Unitas with excellence, vision, and heart.

As Unitas is situated just across the road from HTS, we also look forward to the opportunities this creates for positive collaboration, shared growth, and strengthened relationships between our two schools in the years ahead.

We wish Mr Herbst every success in this exciting new chapter.

A triple Junior SA Millenium Champion

We would like to congratulate Brandon Kelly on his tournament results from this past weekend.
He represented HTS with pride and performed really well!
Gold - Bo fighting
Bronze - 2nd Series
Gold - Semi Contact Sport Boxing
Gold - Millennium (*Title fight* Brandon won to become a triple Jnr SA Millenium Champion)
Tournament *All Out War* in Potchefstrooms also served as Free State Trials.

Congratulations Brandon Kelly

Brandon Kelly and Siyabonga Gina recently participated in the South African National Kickboxing Championship - 9 November 2024.

Congratulations to Brandon Kelly who kept his title and in other fights he came home with 2 x gold and 1 x bronze. Fantastic fighting.

THS principal in the top 9 in South Africa

Mr Rodgers attained the first position in the Secondary Schools Leadership category at the Provincial Teaching Awards 2023. Warmest congratulations on your achievement! Wishing you more success with the last round. You are an inspiration!
