Happy Father's Day to our caring teachers ...

“On the occasion of Father’s Day, we wish all our male teachers warm wishes on Father’s Day for all the love they have showered us with each and every day.”

AND ...

Warm wishes to our new Principal. We are happy that we have a principal like you who always supports and appreciates us in life.

Father's day: Fathers are gifts from the universe ...

God's truest reflection in human form is a father ...  just as He is love, so are our fathers.
Their love is sacrificial as they go out their way to provide comfortable lives for their families with all needs catered for.
They strive to be the best at everything so they can be inspirations to their offspring.
Their love has a gentle side to it too, this is seen through the magic of a father and child bond.
A few moments spent with them feel like a lifetime.
Just as the "fruits" are derived from the "father", the precious gems derive their beautiful souls with amazing capabilities from their fathers.
Even when no more, a father's legacy continues throughout a generation, they are the gift that keeps on giving.
Fathers who are active and present even from the other side deserve all recognition and adoration too. They are gifts from the universe ...
[Thank you, Shaun.]

Happy Father's Day

Kgosana Moeketsi
Junior Mayor 2018/2019
Seeing a man wake up every morning, going to work in order to create a better future for his children is the true meaning of fatherhood.

Today we appreciate those who owned up to being fathers and showed their children unconditional love.

We also appreciate those men who adopt children and give them not only a steady home but also a family.

Let us not forget that man with no kids but has been like a father to many❤️

Happy Father's Day

Father's Day

Junior Mayor of Matjhabeng
Father's Day, an idea that is daunting for so many.

People wake up on the third Sunday of June, all to different situations. Some overjoyed by the fact that they have their fathers in their lives, and many saddened by the fact that the idea of a father is non-existent.

See, so many of us wake up to different realities surrounding fathers, yet there is one reality that all of us need to face: WE ALL NEED OUR FATHERS.

Many of us may be convinced that we're doing "perfectly fine" without our fathers in our lives, but we need to acknowledge that every figure in our lives plays a key role. That role can be fulfilled by a specific person only. Similarly with fathers. There is a role that only he can fill. We may form father-like relationships with other people, but that biological gap will always be there.

Many may not have close relationships with their fathers and may yearn for it, but the truth is it's not the end of the world. It becomes your role as a man to be the father you never had when you grow up, and it is your role as a woman to allow your child's father to be involved when you be come a mom.

Life is all about fixing mindsets, let it begin with us.

Father's day!! Father's day!! Father's day!!

Deputy Junior Mayor of Matjhabeng
It is that time of the year where every child is saying thanks to their fathers for being part of their lives. We as the children of this whole world would like to thank every single man out there who has played a role in one's life. This also includes uncles, brothers and even teachers! There is a huge difference between a 'Father' and a 'Dad'. A father is someone who has played a part in a child's birth only and a Dad is someone who might not have played a part in the birth of a child but is always available and supportive towards his child more than the father.

Many children out there neither have fathers nor dads, but they have single mothers - Mothers who play the role of both a mother and a father in her child's life. These women deserve to be treated like Queens and Kings at the same time and they deserve to be celebrated on this day as well! Instead of wasting time on crying over spilt milk when their husbands have run away or passed away, they stand up firm for themselves and their children. These are our pillars of strength.

We give thanks to single fathers as well, fathers that make sure that their children go to bed with something in their stomachs. Fathers that make sure that they grow young men to be leaders and role models of this country. The society has been ruined, the youth has changed, and days have been numbered for those who are ill-disciplined. We thank those fathers that discipline their children. That teach their children what it means to respect an elder. God says to us that "Respect your mother and father for your days to be longer on this earth", every child deserves a parent that they will respect and honour everyday.

Being a parent is a gift, but being part of any child's life on this earth is a blessing.
Fathers! Stand up when the time is still on your side, and take charge of your responsibility. Your child/ren need you. Fulfil your role and obligation when you still can.

Happy Father's Day!!

Geskiedenis van Vadersdag

Vadersdag is daar vir 'n rede. Gaan lees hoe het Sonora Louise Smart Dodd haar beywer vir so 'n dag. Tekkie Tonic het vroeër al so 'n verkorte weergawe van Vadersdag geplaas.

Gaan lees dit gerus.

My pa is my rolmodel

My pa is my rolmodel.
Dié een wat my stories kan vertel.
Evalueer die saak, voordat hy my optel...
Maar hy bly my rolmodel.

Ek weet dis 'n ewige gesukkel
met 'n seun wat so verkeerd wikkel.
Hardhorend as daar goeie advies kom
en nog steeds hou hy hom dom!

Maar pa bly lief vir my,
soos 'n ma vir die kind op haar sy.
Hy vergewe my, al was ek
die een wat fouteer het soos 'n gek.

My rolmodel is my pa
en so sal dit wees in lengte van dae...

History of Father's Day!

The world owes thanks to Ms Sonora Louise Smart Dodd a loving daughter from Spokane, Washington as it is because of her struggle that Father's Day saw the light of the day.

The idea of Father's Day celebration originated in Sonora's mind when she per chance listened to Mother's Day sermon in 1909. Fairly mature at the age 27, Sonora pondered if there is a day to honor mother then why not for father? Sonora felt strongly for fathers because of the affection she received from her own father Mr William Jackson Smart, a Civil War veteran. Sonora's mother died while childbirth when she was just 16. Mr Smart raised the newborn and five other children with love and care.

Inspired by Ms Anna Jarvis's struggle to promote Mother's Day, Ms Dodd began a rigorous campaign to celebrate Father's Day in US. The Spokane Ministerial Association and the local Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) supported Sonora's cause. As a result Spokane celebrated its first Father's Day on June 19, 1910. Though there was initial hesitation the idea gained gradual popularity all over US and Fathers Day came to be celebrated in cities across the country.

Looking at the heightened popularity of Father's Day in US, President Woodrow Wilson approved of this idea in 1916. President Calvin Coolidge too supported the idea of a national Father's Day in 1924 to, "establish more intimate relations between fathers and their children and to impress upon fathers the full measure of their obligations". After a protracted struggle of over four decades, President Lyndon Johnson signed a presidential proclamation declaring the third Sunday of June as Father's Day in 1966. Then in 1972, President Richard Nixon established a permanent national observance of Father's Day to be held on the third Sunday of June. Sonora Smart Dodd was honored for her contribution at the World's Fair in Spokane in 1974. Mrs. Dodd died in 1978 at age 96.
