What should a successful manager accomplish?

  • to have specific objectives
  • get the job done
  • keep employees satisfied and motivated
  • plan for the future
  • make decisions that are good for the organization
  • do not be afraid to initiate change
  • have methods to control employees and their actions
  • have an effective method of organizing people and work
  • know everything that happens within the organization
  • open lines of communication
  • encourage a sense of well-being among the employees
  • keep the philosophy of the organization in perspective
  • is not afraid of authority
  • never discourage input from employees
  • encourage creativity
  • look for loyalty but do not demand it
  • reward integrity, honest and hard work
  • define the line of authority
  • make decisions based on fairness
  • be flexible
  • demonstrate leadership and enthusiasm
