Lives lived, love shared, triumph, defeat, celebrations, laments – all reduced to the dash between the dates. Is that all our lives come to?

The dash between the birth and death dates on a tombstone symbolizes an entire lifetime. 

It represents all the time spent on earth, emphasizing that how you live, love, and treat others matters far more than material possessions.

The poem's core message is to make the most of your "dash" by being kind, showing appreciation, and living authentically.
