Kanya (12B) has maintained an outstanding cultural performance and commitment throughout the year. He has competed and excelled at district, provincial and national level before, this year was no different!

Kanya served as a Junior Executive Mayor, RCL chairman, an active member of the School Governing Body, a Blood Donor Representative for the South African National Blood Service and a Bookstore prefect.

He participated in the CANSA shaveathon and raised awareness for CANSA where he received an appreciation certificate for valuable volunteerism. The shaveathon was held at Goldfields Mall.

He competed in SAGE, an entrepreneurship competition for teenagers with running businesses, he was placed second in the school competition and also participated at SAGE provincials.

Kanya completed both Junior and Senior Phases in the Junior City Council: A nonprofit organization aimed at helping the youth and looking after the community. He ensured that the community is aware of the Junior City Council by involving parents in the JCC, organized an awareness interview for the JCC with the ROCK FM and collaborated the JCC with the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund all in an effort to make Lejweleputswa better for all teenagers and children.
