Shark Bait ...

A marine biologist put a shark into a big tank at the time of a research experiment. Followed by that, he released some tiny bait fishes into it.

As expected, the shark didn’t wait to attack those fishes and ate them. Later, a clear fiberglass was inserted into the tank which partitioned the tank into two and the shark remained in one side.

A similar set of bait fish was sent to the other side of the tank like before. And the shark attempted to attack those fishes but failed by hitting on the fiberglass.

The shark attempted for several days until it gave up. Later, the biologist removed the glass from the tank but the shark didn’t try to attack the small fishes.

The shark always continues to see a false barrier in the tank and stopped his attempts.

Moral: It is quite common for many people to give up after many setbacks and failures. The story is an example for keep trying always and to never give up despite multiple failures

Top 10-uitstappie ...

Jy is koraalkosbaar!

Jy is 'n fynbesnaarde mens ...

Prize giving 2019 ...

Rantsholo Malefane and Nhlanhla Radebe
This is a special award from Mrs. Harding to Nhlanhla Radebe in 8C

Mrs. Harding is Nhlanhla’s register teacher as well as his English and Afrikaans teacher. Since he first stepped into her classroom in January, there has never been a dull moment. Nhlanhla is a “once in a teacher”s lifetime learner”. He is Mrs. Harding’s little miracle and is very curious about everything and always wants to learn something new. He never gets tired of learning.

Throughout the year he attended Mrs. Welman’s gr. 11 and 12 extra Afrikaans classes and assisted learners and helped them with work they did not understand. He answers of Mrs.Welman’s grade 12 Afrikaans papers successfully.

Nhlanhla Radebe and mrs.
Alet Harding
Nhlanhla is one of HTS’s most dedicated class captains and is the number one student of the top ten of the grade 8’s and all these things make him very excited.

As 2019 progressed, Nhlanhla became more mature and serious.

It is Mrs. Harding’s last full year of teaching before retiring early next year. This special award to Nhlanhla is to thank him for the bundle of joy he has been in her class and for making her last year of teaching worthwhile and very special.

Prize-giving 2019

The annual prize-giving is an opportunity for us to celebrate the efforts made and achievements gained by our learners during the current academic year. It is an opportunity for us to formally congratulate those learners who have performed well in a whole variety of different areas.

Although we all know that taking part is a key element in sports, school events and life in general, recognition of achievement can be what makes us push ourselves and reach our full potential. The prize winners are a true representation of everything that we stand for here at HTS – these hard working young boys are a credit to the school and an inspiration to many among their peers.

It is through achievements such as those we recognise tonight that we are clearly able to see the skill, high expectation and commitment of our staff and pupils and these prize winners are great examples of what we hope for from our boys.

Preprysuitdeling-gebeure ...

Hier is so 'n klein kykie agter die skerms.

The history and origins of Bosses Day

Bosses Day (also known as Boss's Day or National Boss Day), is a celebration that originated in 1958. Patricia Bays Haroski registered "National Boss' Day" with the US Chamber of Commerce in 1958. Patricia was working as a secretary for State Farm Insurance in Deerfield, Illinois at the time, and chose October 8 because she forgot that the birthday of her boss, who was her father, was actually on the 16th!

Four years later in 1962, Illinois Governor Otto Kerner supported Patricia's registration, and officially proclaimed the day. Happy Boss's Day, Mr. Swanepoel. thank you for everything you do for us and the school! Enjoy your day!!

Matrieks groet ...
