PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT!!
On Wednesday the 1st of May, Brebner High School in Bloemfontein, hosted Basketball Fundamentals Clinics (training and games) for High Schools. Players from over 10 schools from the Motheo district respectively the Clinics. Among those present, HTS Welkom was the only Lejweleputswa school invited.
Top Coaches from across the province attended the clinics in order to impart some knowledge on to the boys and girls who attended. Professional players from national Basketball teams were also present and played a role in personally training the players who attended on Wednesday.
Our very own Tekkie Basketball Boys put up quite a show in displaying their skill and vigor. The clinics are to be succeeded by Provincial team selection trials were the team that will represent the Free State at the annual national schools Basketball championships later this year.
Over 50 learners were present at the clinics, among them 24 were flagged as “ALL STARS” at the clinics. Two of our boys; Matheus Sousa da Silva (grade 10) and Nkitsing Moleleki (grade 11) were flagged as potentials for the Free State team and “ALL STARS” by Free State coaches.
Coach Lesala Khetheng extends an emphatic “Thanks” to all parents for allowing their boys to attend the Clinics as they are the future of Tekkie Basketball, he further thanks all Tekkies who attended for availing themselves on a holiday to further develop their skill and brotherhood as a team.
