gesamentlike ondersteuningsprogram vir leerlinge sal van Donderdag af op drie
televisiekanale en 13 radiostasies uitgesaai word. Dié multimediaprogram is
bekend gestel om die impak van die staat van inperking opleerlinge te versag.
“Ons nooi leerlinge om die voordele van die hulpbronne te benut en ons glo dit sal hulle tydens die inperking help om by te bly met hul skoolwerk en hulle op die komende eksamen voor te berei,” sê Ian Plaatjes, bedryfshoof van die SAUK.

To pass science exams well, you need to start studying well in advance.
Two terms of your matric year have already passed, and you are still struggling to prepare for your science tests and exams. With the record exam around the corner, you experience a lot of stress.
Do not lose hope. Here are some tips from someone who knows.
Cronjé Oosthuizen, Head of Department: Physical Sciences at Alexander Road High School in Port Elizabeth says the biggest mistake learners make, is to open there books only three days before an examination.
"Study long before the exam, " he says. "You can't cram all the work in the last three days before the exam. Learners struggle the most remembering definitions and applying mathematical principles as well as solving equations."
"The absence of basic knowledge of grades 9 to 11, especially in chemistry, hinder them the most. Remember that back to basics always count. It is important to know your grade 10 and 11 concepts and to use them in grade 12."
Oosthuizen also suggests that learners should learn definitions and theories before they try to practice applications. It helps a lot to learn according to the guidelines supplied for science by the Department of Education. {Note: Free State learners should use the documents called Examinable Content for learners; your teachers have the detail of where to get them.} Along with applying those guidelines you can download old exam papers from the internet (www.ecexams.co.za) and work them out. {Note: Free State exam and test papers are available here.} Then you practice your "exam ability"! Remember to eat healthy as well and get enough sleep.
"Physical Sciences is Applied Mathematics,” says Oosthuizen. "So, it's important that you incorporate mathematical thinking. This includes problem-solving, interpretation of graphs, gradients of curves and the increase or decrease of gradients. Also think in terms of calculus when you work with graphs. In chemistry's stoichiometry: remember the increase and decrease in terms of relationships as in math."
He recommends that science teachers help their learners with online class notes and videos for revision.
"We no longer have time for revision in class, because the syllabus is too full. I have started www.alexscience.yolasite.com to help our learners. It is free but need some time. Another method is to use sites such as www.schoology.com. Children work on their electronic devices; so, it must also be used for academic reasons."

After exams I quickly forget everything. Why is that, and
how can I prevent it?
Answer
You forget what you memorised because you performed your
study only out of fear of failing or doing inadequately in the exam. Perhaps
you also neglected your study of the subject, only doing last-minute cramming
for the exam. The best way to avoid this unfortunate aftermath of exams is to
develop a deep thirst for knowledge.
Without meaning to be critical, it is a primary duty of
every good teacher to awaken a positive desire to learn in each of her/his learners. But even if the teacher fails in this regard – even if the teacher
just writes a lot of facts on the blackboard for you to copy and regurgitate at
the time of examination – still you yourself will have to find a way on your
own to develop a genuine interest in the subject. In this respect, the response
to the previous question may also be helpful.

Mnr Visagie ...

One of the most energetic people we've ever
known at school.
He had one of those qualities of "Hard work". We
never needed a shoulder to lean on when we maybe lost our books or bags or even
forgot them in one of the teachers' classes. He would come open for you to take
what's yours and yours only. He would ask you: "Why did you leave it in
the first place?" But that sentence question is what made us remember that
we are young adults, we need to take responsibility for our own bags, books and
stationery. His question will leave you with a mind of remembrance. You would
never leave your stuff lying around because of him.
He was an absolute best. He would never let children on the school premises during class time. He would chase you with his stick to class, until you see that he actually cares about our futures.

Elke ding
het sy vaste tyd, elke ding in hierdie wêreld het sy tyd. (Prediker 3:1)
Wanneer dit
tyd word om te groet, kan ons dit doen met die wete dat die Here in beheer is
en dat sy tydsberekening volmaak is.
Soms is dit
makliker om tot siens te sê as andere kere. Soms groet ons met die wete dat dit
net tydelik is. Ouers kan byvoorbeeld hulle kinders vrolik tot siens sê wanneer
hulle hulle in die oggende wegsien skool toe, want voor die dag om is, is hulle
weer tuis.
Partykeer
is dit moeiliker om tot siens te sê, byvoorbeeld wanneer ons kinders of
geliefdes wat in 'n ander land gaan woon, moet groet. Vroeër in hulle
geskiedenis het die Iere, waar baie mense op 'n stadium geëmigreer het, hierna
as die vloek van emigrasie verwys.
Om iemand
vir wie jy lief is te verloor, is seker die seerste groet van almal. Die
skeiding is so finaal. Christene kan hulleself egter troos met die wete dat
omdat ons een in Christus is, geen afskeid finaal is nie. Die hartseer is egter
'n realiteit en slegs die Heilige Gees, die Trooster, kan ons in sulke tye krag
gee en vertroos.
Daar word
dikwels gesê dat wanneer soldate oorlog toe gaan, is diegene wat by die huis
bly wat die swaarste kry. Dieselfde kan gesê word wanneer iemand sterf. Die
familie en vriende wat agterbly, is hartseer en in rou gedompel.
Wanneer ons
sterf, keer ons liggame terug na die aarde, want stof is jy, en tot stof sal jy
terugkeer. Ons as Christene glo dat jou siel (die ware jy) gaan om by die Here
te wees.
Danksy die
Here se volmaakte tydsberekening glo ek dat ek dan gearriveer het by die huis
van my Vader waarheen Jesus gegaan het om vir my 'n plek gereed te maak.

As die skool weer begin, gaan jou plek leeg wees.
Baie sterkte, kalmte, genade en aanvaarding word vir sy familie toegebid. Mike sal vir ewig voortleef in pragtige herinneringe.

| HTS se koor in 2012. Hierdie leerders het skoonskip gemaak in verskeie afdelings waaraan hulle deelgeneem het. Op die voorgrond is Nceba Mgojo met die trompet - 'n blaasmeester as dit by musieknote kom. Deesdae deel Nceba sy liefde vir musiek met die leerders van die skool, nadat hy musiek aan die Pukke studeer het. Regs staan mev. Malinda Anderson, Nceba se mentor, wat musieknote kon toor uit die Tekkie-manne. |

The Free State Department of Education: a digital learning project
The digital learning project will be from 11am to 17pm for 18 days, from the 1st until 30th of April.
The project will be live on the following social media pages on Facebook is (Free State Digital learning), Twitter @MecTateMakgoe, Instagram @Mec Tate Makgoe and it will also be live on seven community radio stations across the province.

For the first week the project will be focusing on the following subjects English,Sesotho, Mathematics P1, Technical Mathematics P1, Mathematical Literacy P1, Accounting,Economics P1 and Physical Science.
The subjects will be divided in the following manner :
