LOL: Blou Maandag-humor ...

"Pa, sien, Juffrou sou my doodgemaak het as ek nie vandag 'n potlood by die skool gehad het nie," sê Faan.

Gideon Bibles South Africa - A Special Visit

Today, we welcomed the Gideon Ambassadors to our school to visit our Grade 8 learners. This morning, they once again shared the incredible impact they make by distributing Gideon Bibles in schools.

As part of their visit, they generously provided our learners woth Bibles, ensuring that each student could receive God’s Word.

Spreading God’s Word through Bible distribution can lead people to faith in Christ. New believers grow by studying Scripture and can even use it to share their newfound faith with others.

We are grateful for their visit and for their work in making God’s Word accessible to so many.

LOL: Blou Maandag-humor ...

"'n Ruimtereisiger, Juffrou," antwoord Sarel.

My naam is Chris en ek moet Meneer weer sien.

Meneer het so voor my bank gestaan, die rottang onder my ken gedruk, my opgelig en gesê dat ek my talente deur my agterwêreld trek.

Verskeie het my later kom bedank.

My gebed

Amen

Is jou matriekuitslae 'n teleurstelling?

Moontlike opsies:
* Laat hermerk jou vraestelle.
* Skryf sekere vakke oor tydens die November 2025-eindeksamen om jou punte te verbeter.
* Daar is ook 'n Mei/Junie NSC-eksamen (**The Second Chance Programme): Sluitingsdatum vir registrasie is 7 Februarie 2025.
* Doen die hele jaar oor.
* Aanlynskool kan ook 'n oplossing bied.

Hierdie opsies kan jou hele toekoms verander. Gryp die geleenthede met albei hande aan. Sterkte!!

** Second Chance Programme: Giving you another chance at success!
The aim of the Second Chance Matric Programme is to provide support to learners who have not been able to meet the requirements of the National Senior Certificate (NSC) or the extended Senior Certificate (SC), thereby meeting the goals of the NDP and the sector thus increasing learner retention.

* Wetenskaponderwyser: "Sê nou ek gooi hierdie R100-noot in hierdie vloeistof. Dink julle dit sal oplos?"
Kosie: "Nee, Meneer."

Poem: The Fly

The fly felt terrible as it flew around
trapped in the car, Johannesburg bound.
It hated the movement, the rolling on,
sick to its stomach, it travelled on.
Stumbling, it flew from the back, to the front,
to the side window, and into the trunk.
"Let me out, let me out, let me out!" it cried,
    holding its stomach, in surprise.
The car finally stopped. Its doors openend wide.
Out flew the fly, with a huge sigh!
"Never again will I venture inside,
a moving vehicle that sways side to side."

Poem: Ass wee orl noe - Mary Peddie

There's a terrible absence of spelling
In the ignorant world of today.
Perhaps people don't read, there's no telling,
Or a robot has got in the way.

It gives us a great deal to laugh at
  Though great irritation as well,
If you went to school in the old days
You would also be able to tell.

One can only laugh at translations.
The robots are thick as short planks.
Some efforts are made to correct them
But you'll never get any thanks.

A century on from our era
Where wil reading and writing have gone?
    A dictionary in the museum?
No! Bots will say that's all a con.

The few humans left on the planet
Will have implants instead of a brain.
But we needn't worry about it.
We're not coming this way again.

- Mary Peddie -

How to support your child after failing matric

Click HERE for all the information

Failing matric can feel devastating for your child because it's often seen as a major milestone in life, with societal pressure amplifying its importance.

Your child's peers may have passed, making him feel left behind, which can lead to feelings of inadequacy, shame and depression.

How you can help your child if they have failed matric:
* Remind them that his worth is not defined by this one moment.
* Encourage them to talk about their disappointment and fears.
* Watch for signs of depression
* Consider professional support if needed.
* Rewrite matric.
* Be patient and positive.

Urgent: TUT teaching courses open for 2025 late applications

Click HERE for all the information!!

Dear Parents

This is a new year, please take 5 minutes to sit with your child and explain that being very tall, short, chubby, skinny, is no joke. That there is nothing wrong with wearing the same shoes every day. Explain to them that a used school bag carries the same dreams as a new one.

Teach them not to exclude someone because they are "different" or don’t have the same opportunities as others. Explain that teasing someone hurts ... and that they go to school to LEARN, NOT to compete.

YOU AND I HAVE THE SAME VALUE! EDUCATION BEGINS AT HOME ...

It is AT HOME that children must learn to say:
01 - Good morning
02 - Good afternoon
03 - Good evening
04 - Please
05 - With mom/dad's permission
06 - Sorry
07 - Forgive me
08 - Thank you very much
09 - Thank you
10 - I was wrong

It is AT HOME that we also learn to:
01 - Be honest
02 - Be on time
03 - Not to insult others
04 - Be polite
05 - Respect everyone: friends, colleagues, elders, teachers, authorities

Still AT HOME, we learn to:
01 - Eat everything
02 - Don’t talk with your mouth full
03 - Personal hygiene
04 - Don’t throw litter on the ground
05 - Help parents with their daily tasks
06 - Don’t take what isn’t yours
07 - Be content with what you have
08 - Work honestly to earn a living
09 - Dress modestly

AT HOME, we still learn to:
01 - Be organised
02 - Take care of your belongings
03 - Don’t take other people's belongings
04 - Respect the rules
05 - Speak your mother tongue(s), master your culture and spirituality

Because AT SCHOOL teachers need to teach in:
■ Afrikaans
■ English
■ Mathematics
■ Life Skills
■ Creative Arts
■ Physical Education
■ Sports and Cultural Activities

We simply reinforce what the learner has already learned AT HOME! Because it is from what we learned AT HOME that the individual will be respected and will respect life.
