The Free State Schools Debating Board together with the
Goldfields Debating League held provincial debating trials for Lejweleputswa
schools on Saturday 20 October 2018 at Unitas Secondary School. The region’s top ranking debaters from
different schools were invited to trial, only 8 juniors and 10 seniors were
selected for the Free State team. From THS Welkom 6 learners were invited to
participate. THS Welkom is proud to announce that three learners were selected
to represent the province at the national competition which will be held at the
University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg this December. These include:
Kgosana Moeketsi (Selected for the senior team), Shaun Mmutsi (Selected for the senior team) and Thato Manaka (Selected
for the junior team).The school wishes them the best of wishes throughout for
the competition.
